Tapioca tiles with beach bean hommus, duck rice with tucupi bernaise and tapioca choux with pirarucu mantecato were some of the dishes that marked the second season of the Notiê restaurant, at Priceless Space in downtown São Paulo.

In common, they brought ingredients from the Amazon, the region chosen by award-winning chef Onildo Rocha for the second season. They were selected during an expedition by Onildo and his team through the forest and with the collaboration of chefs Clarinda Ramos, an indigenous member of the Sateré Mawé people, from Casa de Comida Indígena Biatüwi, in Manaus, and Débora Shornik, from the restaurants Caxiri, in Manaus, and Camu-Camu, in Novo Airão.

The expedition also had the presence of ambassadors from the first two seasons of the Priceless Space – formed by chef Onildo Rocha, beer specialist Junior Bottura, mixologist Ale D’Agostino and barista Boram Um.

To delve deeper into Amazonian gastronomy and culture, the team traveled for 12 days through the states of Amazonas, Pará and Rondônia. At these destinations, they met small producers, their inspirations and ingredients, which came in Onildo’s luggage.

All the magic of the Amazon also inspired designer and set designer Patricia Sobral, the artist behind the artistic project for Espaço Priceless. With Duhigó, the first indigenous Amazonian visual artist to have a work in the São Paulo Museum of Art (Masp), she developed a panel for the ceiling of Notiê that took the visitor to another universe. Entitled “The Mythology of Duhigó”, the work brought the essence of the Amazon under the female gaze, from the point of view of one of his daughters.
